Self employed individuals are generally considered to be anyone that owns 20% or more of a business that contributes to the majority of their income. Whether that be as a sole trader, partnership or limited company, lenders will assess your income slightly differently to that of an employed person.

As part of the mortgage process, you will need to provide your last two years accounts / self assessments and or tax year overviews and tax calculations. Some lenders will still consider you if you have only been trading for 1 year, or if you have experienced a decline in your net profits, so whatever your current status is as a self employed individual, we can help to find the right mortgage for you.
